Jackie Bradley, Jr. is mired in an 0-for-20 slump, but the Boston Red Sox were prepared for the young outfielder to struggle.

Boston still has confidence in the youngster, who burst onto the scene this spring.

John Farrell believes Bradley is dealing well with adversity.

"I think as well as can be expected," Farrell said. "He's also human and there's some frustration involved with maybe some of the at-bats that he's gone through over the past week. That's, again, we know that those challenges were likely to emerge. If we didn't feel like he had the capacity to respond or handle those, I think, in a stable way, we wouldn't have taken the gamble to bring him with us North. I can't say that anything he's gone through, or his reaction, has been different than we anticipated."

Bradley is hitting .097/.263/.129 in 38 plate appearances.
