Amid reports that the Mariners and Felix Hernandez have yet to finalize a contract extension because of concerns over his elbow, Jack Zduriencik says that the pitcher has been throwing normally for the last month.

Hernandez will also report with the rest of Seattle's pitchers and catchers as expected on Tuesday.

"He's coming down [Sunday night] and will be here to get his physical and we'll get rolling," Zduriencik said. "I'm not going to comment on any of that other stuff. It's ridiculous. I've watched him at the ballpark [Safeco Field] for the last month or so throwing and hes his normal self."

Buster Olney of ESPN said one source told him the elbow is "an issue" in finalizing the new deal.

It was reported last week that Hernandez and the Mariners agreed to a seven-year, $175 million contract extension.
