Scott Kazmir, at just 29, is trying to make it back to the Major Leagues for the first time in two years.

Kazmir, once a top prospect with the Mets, emerged as an All-Star with the Rays and was an above-average pitcher. He wants not only to get back to the Majors, but that level once again.

"I think I can be one of the best pitchers in the game," Kazmir said. "Hands down. I definitely believe that."

He signed a minor league deal with the Indians, including an invitation to spring training.

"I'm gonna keep tuning myself and I'm gonna be one of the best pitchers in the game," Kazmir said. "If it doesn't happen [in camp], if it doesn't happen right then, then it just wasn't in the cards right there. I don't know when, but it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen.

"Where everything's just gonna click and I'm gonna take off."
