Francisco Liriano has suffered an injury to his right, non-throwing arm, which has put his recent two-year contract agreement with the Pirates in limbo.

According to a Major League source, Liriano suffered the unspecified injury in late December. It came shortly after he reached a $12.75 million agreement with Pittsburgh.

The Pirates are believed to be in continuing talks with the Liriano camp, likely trying to negotiate new terms.
