The Phillies are looking for a right-handed bat to use behind Ryan Howard and they have discussed Alfonso Soriano with the Cubs.

Philadelphia and Chicago have reportedly discussed swapping Soriano for Domonic Brown, but the Phillies may still be more likely to sign a free agent like Cody Ross.

The Cubs are believed willing to pay all but $10 million of the $36 million remaining on Soriano's contract if they receive good prospects in return.
