The Mets attempted to downplay the seriousness of Pedro Martinez's strained right calf yesterday, even as he was undergoing more tests, including an MRI.
They expect to have a better read on his condition on Wednesday, after team physician Struan Coleman looks over the results, but Martinez seems doubtful for his next start and the disabled list remains a possibility.
"He spoke to Ray Ramirez earlier today and said he felt sore, but he didn't feel alarmed by it," Willie Randolph said. "So we'll just wait to see what the MRI says."
DL For Pedro?
