Don Zimmer will be back with the Rays next season to again serve the team as a senior advisor.

Zimmer's 10th season with the Rays will mark his 65th in pro baseball as a player, coach or manager.

"Zim has been a valuable resource not only for our players and coaching staff, but for our front office as well," said Rays executive VP of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. "We are excited that he will be returning for another season in our uniform and look forward to many more."

Zimmer, 81, said he "couldn't be happier."
