Alex Rodriguez was pinch-hit for on Thursday night for the second-consecutive game with a playoff game hanging in the balance.

Raul Ibanez hit a pair of home runs as A-Rod's replacement in a victorious Game 3, but Eric Chavez didn't provide any magic in a losing effort in Game 4.

Rodriguez wasn't happy following Game 4, a night after he was supportive of the decision to remove him from the lineup. He didn't expect to be pinch-hit for in the 13th inning with the Yankees trailing by a run.

"No, no — obviously I've gotten a look at this guy for a couple of days now," Rodriguez said of closer Jim Johnson, "and I hoped it was a little bit different today, but it wasn't."

Rodriguez started Game 4 with a walk and then a single, but struck out in key situations in his final two at-bats.

"It's obviously frustrating," he said. "I found myself in a few situations where I could do some damage, and I couldn't get it done tonight."
