When asked what the Red Sox need to do to be successful next season, David Ortiz offered up a comparison that fans in Boston won't want to hear about.

"With an organization like this one, we need to go and play like those guys across the street are playing right right now," Ortiz said in reference to the Yankees. "That's how this organization looks right. Now, if you're not going to play like that you can't be playing that far away from it."

The Red Sox recently cut $104 million from their payroll when they traded Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett to the Dodgers.
