Bobby Valentine remains confident that he'll manage the Red Sox in 2013, saying he's "the best man for the job."

It remains unclear if the organization feels the same way, but the belief has been that Valentine will be fired once the season is over. The Red Sox are enduring their worst season since 1992.

Valentine has one year and $2.5 million left on his contract.

"I haven't lost any sleep only because when I get to bed I'm worn out," he said. "These games have worn me out, to tell you the truth, very often. I feel bad for the fans, but I don't have to make a case to them. I've suffered with them."
