Adam Dunn hopes to resume batting practice on Wednesday after recently receiving a pain-killing injection.

The slugger hopes that means he'll be back in the lineup with the White Sox sooner rather than later.

"I want to wait until I have no problems, as opposed to coming back a day or two early and having this thing do this again and missing significant time," Dunn said.

He has missed Chicago's last five games with a right oblique strain.

"What we're trying to do is get it to where I can swing," Dunn said. "That's the problem. It's not getting out of bed now. It's not sneezing. I'm not going to pick up a bat (Tuesday) and hopefully (Wednesday) they'll let me do some stuff."
