The Pirates have selected the contract of Jeff Clement from Class A Bradenton.

Clement was taken by the Mariners with the third overall pick in 2005.

In 134 Major League games, he has hit .220/.277/.377 with 14 home runs and 38 RBI. He has struck out nearly four times as many times as he has walked.
