Joe Girardi isn't ready to panic about Alex Rodriguez's struggles at the plate.
Before Saturday's game, when asked if he would consider dropping Rodriguez down to seventh in the lineup, Girardi said no.
"We're not at that point yet," Girardi said.
Rodriguez is hitting .268 with a .355 on-base percentage and a .435 slugging percentage. Aside from his first-year in the big leagues as a 19-year-old, he is on pace for the worst offensive season of his career.
"We've hit him third against righthanded pitchers, he's been getting on base and scoring runs for us," Girardi said.
"We've hit him fourth against lefties. Until (Friday) night, I think he was hitting in the .290s against lefties. He had a tough night (Friday) night but that doesn't mean he won't bounce back."
