As trade rumors involving Cole Hamels swirl, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. says he isn't giving up on the season. Philadelphia has shopped the left-hander, but they ultimately still hope to re-sign Hamels. "I'm not commenting on reports," Amaro said. "We don't comment on speculation. "The Phillies' goal is to keep Cole in our uniform and fight to win the NL East, and if not to try be in the playoffs [as a wild-card team] in 2012." The Phillies are nine games under .500 and eleven games back of the Nationals in the NL East.
