The Blue Jays have signed supplemental first-rounder Matt Smoral for double what Major League Baseball had assigned for him, according to a report. Smoral, a high school left-handed pitcher, was selected by Toronto with the No. 50 overall pick in this month's MLB draft. According to Baseball America, the Blue Jays signed him for $2 million, or $1 million more than the slot value assigned by MLB for the 50th overall pick.
