Josh Hamilton has decided to pass on next month's Home Run Derby. The Rangers slugger says he was offered the opportunity to be the captain for the American League's team. Hamilton has not been a part of the event since 2008, when he hit a record 28 homers in the first round. "It's just not the right time," Hamilton said. "I haven't done it in the last couple years. I want to be healthy and be the best I can be for the team. I don't want to take a chance of going out and hurting anything trying to entertain folks in the (Home Run Derby). That's why I declined again."
