The White Sox acquired catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. from the Dodgers for minor-league pitcher B.J. LaMura on Sunday after designating backup Chris Widger for assignment. A six-time American League All-Star, the 40-year-old Alomar is hitting .323 with nine RBIs in 27 games. This will be his third stint with the White Sox. "I wish I could stay and play with them, but I'm happy to be going home and to a place I'm familiar with," Alomar said. "It's a good thing for me and my family. All I could do here was catch and pinch-hit, and there are other players who can do more for this team."
