Friction arose between Albert Pujols and hitting coach Mickey Hatcher on Monday night, but neither would discuss the clash on Tuesday. Pujols, who in April hit .217 with no homers, the worst month of his career, was upset at Hatcher for telling reporters what he said during a closed-door hitters meeting. "Mickey shouldn't have said that," the first baseman said. "No disrespect, but I'll talk to Mickey about that." Asked Tuesday whether he spoke to Hatcher, Pujols said, "Come on, man. All that stuff is personal. We don't discuss it in the media." Hatcher, under fire for L.A.'s hitting woes during an 8-15 start, tried to defuse the situation. "I don't want to talk about it, Albert doesn't want to talk about it," Hatcher said. "It was something you guys stirred up, and that's it. Everybody's laughing about it. It's ridiculous."
