Bobby Valentine got an introduction into just how Dustin Pedroia plays in Boston's win over Toronto on Monday night. Pedroia hit a solo homer in the sixth inning off Blue Jays starter Henderson Alvarez, then started a three-run ninth-inning rally to lead the Red Sox to their first win. "I don't have enough words to talk about Pedroia," Valentine said. When Valentine arrived in the Red Sox clubhouse at about noon on Monday, Pedroia already was there. "He was already here pacing, and he said we had to get the monkey off our back and let's go," Valentine said. "He gets a high slider and puts it in the seats. He gets a high fastball and starts a winning rally off the double. He's a great player."
