The Blue Jays cut Travis Snider and sent him down to the minors after their exhibition win over the Red Sox on Sunday. Eric Thames will be Toronto's left fielder on Opening Day. Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Snider took the news "like a pro." "It's one of those things that both guys played well and ... we had to make a decision one way or the other." Snider, 24, was the team's first-round draft pick in 2006 and rose through the organization as one of its most highly touted prospects. In 232 games spread over four seasons, he has shown flashes of big-league potential, but never enough consistency to become an established everyday player.
