Brett Lawrie, who entered the 2011 season as Toronto's top prospect, is preparing for his sophomore season. He'll be in the lineup on Opening Day and has blossomed into one of the team's most marketable players. "It's reassuring, but at the same time there's a lot of work ahead," Lawrie said. "I always feel like I have a chip on my shoulder and I always feel like there's something to prove. "I'm excited to get to Spring Training -- wish it started tomorrow. I'm just excited to go out with these guys, compete, and win." His skills have fans in Toronto expecting big things from the first true homegrown star to ever play for the club. That's all fine according to Lawrie, who said it's something he has grown accustomed to. "I've always liked pressure, I've always liked being put in that situation," Lawrie said. "You miss 100 percent of the shots that you don't take -- I like that. I think if you get put in a situation and you fail, people say, 'At least he tried, he's not going to be one of those guys that didn't try.' "I'm going to give it 100 percent in everything that I do and if I come out on top then so be it. If I don't there's always the next one."
