The Rangers and left-hander Derek Holland are discussing a five-year contract that would buy out his arbitration years and allow the team to keep him at the beginning of his free-agency period, according to a source. "I love it in Texas, and it's where I'd like to be," Holland said. "Hopefully my agent and [Jon Daniels] can work something out. I'll go somewhere else if I have to, but this is where I call home. I don't think we're too far off, but I don't know for sure. I don't try to think too much about it. I leave that with my agent." Holland went 16-5 with a 3.95 ERA in 198 innings this past season.
