Gammons suffered the aneurysm Tuesday morning near his home on Cape Cod. He was airlifted to a Boston hospital, where the surgery was performed.
"Peter is resting comfortably after surgical repair of a brain aneurysm," Gammons' wife, Gloria, said in a statement.
