The Red Sox are keeping an eye on free-agent reliever Ryan Madson, who isn't expected to return to the Phillies. Philadelphia signed Jonathan Papelbon, formerly of Boston, to be their new closer. Daniel Bard is moving into the rotation, but he has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Papelbon.
