Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts said Saturday that the team is working on a contract extension for president of business operations Crane Kenney. "He's considered one of the best presidents in baseball," Ricketts told ESPN 1000's "Talkin' Baseball." "Since we started working together, I've been consistently impressed with his ability to handle all the issues of the team, and still keep his eyes on the horizon of what we can do to get better. He's an excellent executive, hopefully now that we are talking about extending his contract and keeping him around for a long time all that (negative talk) will go away. I don't think there's much point in the negative attention that he's gotten because he does a great job." Ricketts restructured Chicago's front office in October with the hire of Theo Epstein as the team's president of baseball operations. That hiring shifted Kenney's title from team president to president of business operations.
