Cubs right-hander Matt Garza has heard his name floated around in trade rumors this offseason, but president Theo Epstein doesn't sound like he's interested in dealing the starting pitcher. "He is exactly the type of guy we'd like to build around," Epstein said. Former Cubs general manager Jim Hendry dealt four of his top prospects to Tampa Bay last January in the Garza trade, depleting the system for the possibility of contending in 2011. "We need starting pitching," Epstein said. "You can't take your chances very seriously as a club if you go into the season without not just five guys you can point to, but 6, 7, 8 ... you better know who your ninth starter is going to be, because you're going to need your ninth starter at some point during the course of the year. "We have to build our starting pitching depth. We don't have a ton of depth beyond the obvious guys who are in the rotation right now. So that's a priority."
