The Marlins have a standing contract offer to first baseman Albert Pujols. The deal is believed to be for nine years with a competitive average annual value of around $25 million. That would make the overall value of the contract at least $225 million, which is more than the Cardinals reportedly offered the first baseman prior to the 2011 season.
