Brewers general manager Doug Melvin might meet with agent Scott Boras this week to discuss Prince Fielder and the free-agent market. However, Melvin gave no indication that the Brewers have plans to make an offer to Fielder anytime soon. "At this point, it's important that we let Scott and Prince test the market," the executive said. The Brewers offered Fielder a five-year extension for approximately $100 million in the spring of 2010 but never received a counter-offer. The sides haven't negotiated since.
