The Pirates have signed veteran catcher Rod Barajas to a one-year contract with a club option for the 2013 season. Barajas, who played for the Dodgers last season, hit .230 with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs in 98 games. Pittsburgh is in need of catching help after declining the options on Chris Snyder and Ryan Doumit.
