The Giants have acquired Melky Cabrera from the Royals for Jonathan Sanchez and Ryan Verdugo. Cabrera had an OPS of .809 in 2011 with 18 homers. Cabrera has a lifetime OPS of .729 with his previous career high being .752 in 2009 with the Yankees. Sanchez struggled in 2011, but still had a respectable 4.26 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 101 innings.
