Josh Hamilton will be examined by Dr. William Myers in Philadelphia to determine the extent of an injury he self-diagnosed as a possible sports hernia during the World Series. Dr. Myers performed surgery on Hamilton in 2009 to repair a torn abdominal muscle that kept the slugger out of the lineup for a month. Hamilton says he will take about a week off to rest before making the trip to Philadelphia. Hamilton has dealt with the injury since the end of the regular season, although he initially described it as a left groin strain. "You're always concerned when surgery is being brought up, but he had surgery in '09 and bounced back and won the MVP," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said. "Maybe that will be the lucky surgery."
