There are rumblings out of San Diego that the Padres might be interested in much maligned Red Sox right-hander John Lackey. The Padres would be able to reunite Lackey with manager Bud Black, who was his pitching coach with the Angels. Lackey's style of pitching might also suit the spacious Petco Park. San Diego may find a stumbling block in the $45 million that remains on Lackey's contract, but Boston could certainly take on some of his salary.
