A.J. Burnett has spent his past three starts as a mechanics lab.
On Sept. 1, the Yankees starter changed the set position of his hands in Boston. Six days later, he tinkered with his turn facing the Orioles. This past Thursday, in Seattle, after opening the game with three brutal innings, Burnett returned to the side-to-side movement with his body but kept the hands at his chest and rebounded with three strong frames.
Burnett is now done with changing his mechanics.
"I don't think so," Burnett said before the Yankees' 3-0 loss to the Blue Jays. "My hands are where they need to be. That's what has made my wind up clean. I was conscious of my delivery [in Seattle] but I never went past my hands. I looked at tapes of 2009 and my time with the Blue Jays and my hands were always in the middle."
