Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus took batting practice on Thursday as he aims to return from a wrist injury.
Rasmus has been out since Aug. 23 with a jammed right wrist. He suffered the injury while crashing into the wall in center field during a game against the Royals.
"Any time we've got a guy that is transitioning back to on-field activity, we've got to go through some steps," manager John Farrell said. "To get him some at-bats in a rehab setting would be ideal. The fact is he has progressed to this point, so we're moving in the right direction."
He'll likely join one of Toronto's minor league teams in the coming days to get some live at-bats.
