Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero isn't sure if the team will approach him about a contract extension this winter.
However, he would like to remain with Arizona over the long-term.
"They're more than welcome to come to me in the off-season," Montero said. "Obviously, I want to stay here. My family likes Phoenix, so it's always good to stay here. I like the front-office guys. I like the fans. I like everybody. I would be more than happy to stay here."
One club source said it is "probable" the team will talk to Montero about a deal this winter.
Montero is making $3.2 million in his second season of arbitration. He'll be arbitration eligible for the final time next season, after which he can become a free agent.
"I know how these things work," Montero said. "I know this is a business. I can't really say if I will sign here or I won't, but I'd like to stay."
