The White Sox have an irregular number of days off coming, which has allowed the team to consider briefly using a four-man starting rotation.
Chicago has three off-days in an 11-game stretch.
"It has been on my mind the last couple of days," pitching coach Don Cooper said of using just four starting pitchers. "I'm not sure."
Going with a shorter rotation would allow Mark Buehrle to make more starts.
Buehrle has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 17 straight starts.
"You're tempted to say, 'Let's run him out there,'" Cooper said. "If we keep playing good ball, it's an option we have to look at it. Get the hottest guys out there."
