The Angels optioned their top prospect back to Double-A Arkansas on Monday, according to an ESPN.com report.
Center fielder Mike Trout, 19, was brought up to take the place of Peter Bourjos, but had played sparingly since Bourjos came off the disabled list on July 23. Trout batted just .163 in 43 at-bats, but he flashed plenty of the skills that have the Angels so excited about his future.
He picked up his first major league home run in Baltimore, made some circus catches in center field and showed flashes of his elite speed.
