The Phillies are making progress in their pursuit of Astros outfielder Hunter Pence, according to major-league sources. There is one caveat though, Philadelphia and Houston will need to reach an agreement by Friday or the Astros will move onto discussing Pence seriously with other teams. The package going from Philadelphia to Houston for Pence would include Class A right-hander Jarred Cosart and Class A first baseman Jonathan Singleton, according to sources. The Phillies and Astros are going back-and-forth about a third and potentially fourth player being added to the deal. Domonic Brown currently isn't involved as Houston prefers younger prospects.
