Scott Boras, the agent for Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, doesn't expect his client to receive a contract extension during the 2011 season. "These things are offseason discussions," Boras said. "Whenever people ask me midseason about contracts, you have to make sure the player finishes the season. Only then is it the right point. Boston and us work well together, we always have. Jacoby's got another (two years) there after this. I can really only say I'm not the one who's the father of contract offers. I just receive them and pass them on to players when they come. "Where we're at now, I can't say always, but 99 percent of the time we just let the season play out before we talk about these things." Ellsbury isn't eligible for free agency until after the 2013 season.
