The Orioles have run out of patience with reliever Jeremy Accardo, opting to designate the right-hander for assignment Saturday. Accardo was the losing pitcher in Friday night's game against the Nationals. He was 3-3 with a 5.29 ERA in 25 appearances this season. "His numbers were, going into last night, a little better than he actually pitched," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "We keep a thing about balls given up that are hard hit and he wasn't doing too well in that category." Baltimore also optioned infielder Ryan Adams to Triple-A Norfolk, recalled right-hander Brad Bergesen from Norfolk and purchased the contract of infielder Blake Davis.
