A day after benches and bullpens cleared in a game between the Indians and Yankees at Yankee Stadium, Alex Rodriguez was hit by a pitch on Saturday. Umpires immediately ejected Cleveland starter Mitch Talbot in the bottom of the sixth inning after the previous night's incident, which kicked off when Mark Teixeira was hit by a pitch. Yankees manager Joe Girardi and Indians manager Manny Acta had to be separated after righty Fausto Carmona hit Teixeira on Friday night. "After the situation we had (Friday), and Alex hit a big home run (Friday) and hit another home run (Saturday), and Curtis Granderson hit a home run (Friday) and another one (Saturday), he threw the pitch directly at (Rodriguez)," home plate umpire Dan Iassogna said. "His defense was that he didn't hit him intentionally."
