Yankees catching prospect Jesus Montero is having a steady season in his second campaign with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Montero, who hit .289/.353/.517 in 123 games at the Triple-A level in 2010, was mentioned as a potential member of New York's big league roster during the 2011 season.
His numbers have spiked a bit this spring. The Venezuelan is hitting .309/.337/.429 through 44 games.
Montero struck out nearly twice as many times as he walked last season, but his plate disciple has decreased early this year.
He has struck out 45 times and walked just nine times. He earns a free pass once per 22 plate appearances.
