The Yankees avoided a sweep at the hands of the Mariners thanks to a 7-1 win on Sunday afternoon. CC Sabathia won his sixth game of the season as New York once again provided him with tremendous run support. "I don't think anybody has realized it yet, but I know," Sabathia said. The left-hander allowed just one run in eight innings of work. He also won for the sixth straight time against the Mariners and improved to 8-1 in 11 starts at Safeco Field. Sabathia entered Sunday getting the second-most offensive help in the majors at nearly 7 1/2 runs per game.
