Brett Gardner is struggling, but the Yankees aren't ready to bench him.
Gardner is hitting .128 with a .196 on-base percentage this season.
He won't be in the lineup against left-handers anytime soon, but manager Joe Girardi isn't ready to completely pull the plug.
"There's too much value there and he's too good of a player to say he should lose his job," hitting coach Kevin Long said. "He's going to get ample opportunity to showcase his talents."
