Royals closer Joakim Soria nearly blew a save against the Mariners on Friday night, something manager Ned Yost blamed on cold weather. Soria's control was off and he issued two walks with a wild pitch, and gave up a hit, as Seattle mustered three runs in Kansas City's 6-5 win. "He was throwing 94 miles an hour and it was colder than anything last night -- that's all it is," Yost said. "When people say, 'What's wrong with him?' Nothing's wrong with him." Soria, who continually blew in his pitching hand to warm it, steadfastly declined to blame the weather. "Good professionals don't make excuses," Yost said. "He'll never make that excuse -- never."
