Veteran pitcher Doug Davis will hold an audition for interested teams on Thursday.
Davis, who was limited to eight starts with the Brewers last season because of a heart problem and then an elbow injury that required surgery, will pitch in Arizona as he looks for a contract.
He has been throwing off a mound for more than a month.
"Doug is ready to go," agent Steve Canter said. "It's not often that somebody like this pops up in the market the last week of Spring Training."
Canter said Davis would need a few starts in Triple-A to get built up, but that he'd be ready to help a big league rotation within a matter of weeks.
"He's getting a lot of interest," Canter said. "We'll see how it plays out. You look around and see some significant injuries this spring. Doug could help a team."
