Nationals manager Jim Riggleman indicated on Tuesday that reliever Drew Storen will be on the team's 25-man roster when the season begins.
Last year, his first in the big leagues, Storen appeared in 54 games and recorded five saves with an ERA of 3.58.
He had struggled prior to an impressive performance on Tuesday.
"The thing with Drew and anybody else who struggles a little in the spring, there is a track record," Riggleman said.
"He came up [last year] and really did a good job for us. That's the sample of work you draw from more than a few Spring Training outings. Any progress he makes ... he will be on our ballclub. He has earned it. There is a trust level there with what he can do late in the ballgame with the quality of his pitches."
