Giants manager Bruce Bochy is denying a report that Barry Zito isn't guaranteed a spot in the team's starting rotation.
Bochy said that Zito remains his No. 4 starter.
"Believe me, there has been no conversation anywhere near what the article was about," Bochy said, referring to the San Francisco Chronicle piece that claimed Zito was in trouble.
Zito is 40-57 with a 4.45 ERA in his first four years with the Giants after signing a $126 million, seven-year contract before the 2007 season.
