The Rays have designated outfielder Justin Ruggiano and first baseman-outfielder Leslie Anderson for assignment. The move creates room for recent additions Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez. The Rays have 10 days to trade, release or outright Ruggiano and Anderson on the minor leagues.
