Still worn by a viral condition that had kept him away from the club for five days, Cardinals third baseman Scott Rolen returned to the Busch Stadium clubhouse Sunday but did not accompany the team to Cincinnati after its 9-2 win over the Washington Nationals. Rolen, who last played a week ago tonight, will stay in St. Louis at least through Tuesday, trying to regain strength and weight sapped by a condition the club says it has yet to precisely determine. "I've pretty much been miserable. This kind of wiped me out," Rolen said while sitting at his locker before Sunday's first pitch. Rolen arrived at the park Sunday morning with a suit in case team doctors cleared him to travel to Cincinnati for a two-game series against the Reds. However, the club decided to leave Rolen behind after consulting team internist Dr. James Loomis, who is supervising Rolen's case.
